Luxury SUVs, like the Audi Q5 and the BMW X3, offer everything from stylish good looks to performance-inspired powertrains. Which one is right for you, though? To help drivers in Ithaca, Corning, and Binghamton, NY, decide, the team at Audi Ithaca put together this 2020 Audi Q5 vs. BMW X3 comparison.

Audi Q5 Performance & Capability

The 2020 Audi Q5 comes with standard quattro® all-wheel with ultra® technology. This drivetrain will help you grip the road whether you're cruising on winding roads or making your way through a snowstorm. Under the hood, it features a 2.0L TFSI® 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.

The 2020 BMW X3 also runs on a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that gets up to 248 horsepower, but it's only able to provide you with 258 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, it can't guarantee the same kind of traction with standard rear-wheel drive.

Audi Q5 Interior

Both SUVs offer a stylish cabin with lots of amenities. The Audi Q5 has standard leather seats and makes sure you're comfortable behind the wheel with heated front seats and power-adjustable front seats with lumbar support.

It also gives you and your passengers plenty of space to stretch out. There's 41 inches of legroom behind the wheel and 37.8 inches of legroom in the second row. You can also give everyone a nice view and let in some fresh air with an available panoramic sunroof.

The BMW X3 also includes power-adjustable seats with lumbar support. However, it comes with leatherette seats and doesn't offer as much room to relax. There's 40.3 inches of legroom up front and 36.4 inches of legroom in the second row. While you can also brighten up the drive with a moonroof, you won't be able to open up the roof and feel the wind on a warm day.

Audi Q5 Technology

The 2020 Audi Q5 comes with a user-friendly infotainment system. The standard dashboard monitor comes with lots of smartphone compatibility. There's Bluetooth® for streaming music and making hands-free calls, plus standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. They allow you to sync your apps to the system no matter what kind of phone you have.

There are several ways to use the system, too. Voice control is available, while the MMI® all-in-touch feature comes in handy if there's a lot of noise around you. It lets you scroll, zoom, and write in what you're looking for on a touchpad on the center console.

The BMW X3 also comes with a Bluetooth®-compatible infotainment system. While it lets iPhone users sync their phones with Apple CarPlay®, it doesn't offer Android Auto™ on any trim level. Plus, it doesn't have anything like the MMI® touchpad.
