The Audi Q5 and the Volvo XC60 give you everything you want in a luxury SUV. They're stylish, comfortable, and offer lots of cargo room. Which one is right for you, though? The team at Audi Ithaca put together this 2020 Audi Q5 vs. Volvo XC60 comparison to help drivers in Ithaca, Corning, and Binghamton, NY, decide.

Performance-Inspired Design

When you're cruising around the Finger Lakes and the Southern Tier, you want a vehicle that's both capable and stylish. The Audi Q5 delivers with a sleek, round design that's both great looking and aerodynamic.

Every angle has been rounded off to make it more streamlined. The front grille features a set of chrome bars that extend into the lower air intakes. This sets the tone for the streamlined accent lines that run up the hood and along the sides. To round things out, the back features a sharp exhaust that blends into the bumper.

The Volvo XC60 is unquestionably classy. However, it doesn't look like it was designed with aerodynamics in mind. It features some awkward, boxy angles, so it appears that it may not be as capable handling tight turns.

Infotainment System

Inside, both SUVs feature some of the latest technology. The Audi Q5 has a user-friendly display on top of the dashboard. It comes with the Audi smartphone interface and includes Bluetooth®, Apple CarPlay®, and Android Auto™. Voice control comes standard, so you can access your smartphone apps, put on your favorite playlist, or make a call without taking your hands off the wheel.

If you're parked in a noisy area, you can actually write in what you're looking for. The MMI® all-in-touch system features a convenient touchpad on the center console. It lets you scroll over to the navigation system, write in your destination, then zoom in using 3D maps.

The Volvo XC60 comes with all the same smartphone compatibility and also offers voice control and navigation. However, it doesn't offer anything like the MMI® touchpad.

Performance & Capability

The Audi Q5 is also prepared for rough weather and tough terrain. It comes with quattro® all-wheel drive with ultra® technology. Its 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine also delivers up to 273 lb-ft of torque.

The Volvo XC60 comes with standard front-wheel drive. It can't provide you with the same capability when you need it, either. While it also has a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, it can only offer up to 258 lb-ft of torque.

In addition to helping you get through all sorts of driving conditions, the Audi Q5 can also help you haul some extra cargo. Its 4,400-pound towing capacity lets you bring along a trailer or some recreational vehicles for the ride. Meanwhile, the Volvo XC60 can only tow up to 3,500 pounds.
